In collaboration with
Utah State University Salt Lake Extension and participating community partners, Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services proudly presents the MealsPlus Fresh Produce Program.
An increasingly urgent issue facing older adults today is meeting everyday nutritional needs. The availability of fresh produce to homebound seniors is often low due to access and/or resources. Many homebound seniors receive nutritious mid-day meals through Salt Lake County’s Meals on Wheels program. Most of these seniors do not have easy access to fresh fruits and vegetables for other meals and snacks. The MealsPlus Program provides a locally-grown, fresh produce option for Meals on Wheels recipients.
Each Wednesday, June-September, volunteers are needed at the Salt Lake County Government Center in the South Atrium (2100 S. State Street) from 2:30-4:30.
(End time varies based on need.)
