Salt Lake County organizations accept credit and debit cards (payment cards) for a wide variety of services. In 2015, County agencies processed $75,711,828 in payment card transactions. The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard is a set of 12 requirements created by the PCI Security Standard Council to protect the public's cardholder data and help decrease the likelihood of payment card fraud. This audit examines County entities' compliance with the 12 requirements mandated by the Data Security Standard.
