We offer private and semi-private swim lessons for both children and adults. We teach all ages and ability levels including people that are afraid of water and those trying to get ready for swim team. All of our instructors are certified through Nationally Recognized Swimming curriculum programs (ARC and SAI) and have been teaching group lessons for a minimum of two years, as well as must have proven themselves to be a high-caliber teacher and swimmer.
Our instructors have flexible schedules so that you may find a time that is most convenient for both of you!
While we do our best to keep this page updated and provide you with quality instructors, availability can change very quickly (especially during the summer months) and many time slots are booked months in advance.
We have a flat, standard fee that is used at every Salt Lake County recreation facility for private swim lessons:

Josh served an LDS Mission in the
Philippines for 2 years. He loves teaching and started teaching swimming
lessons in 2012. Josh has experience teaching all ages and is confident
with any age and all swimming skills. Starting from getting used to the water
all the way through to refining swim stokes such as: Sidestroke, Freestyle,
backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.
Bio:Kate offers private swimming instruction specifically designed for adults wishing to overcome their fear of the water, or for those wishing to improve their technique and ability. Kate has been teaching people how to swim since 2009; all ages from infant to adult and all levels from terrified to having no fear. "Learning how to swim can open a whole new world of water sports, fitness and social opportunity. I can take you from basic beginnings all the way through being able to compete on a swim team, swim in a triathlon or complete an open water marathon."

Bio:Lexie is a 4th grade teacher at Summit Academy Elementary school in Draper, and has also been teaching swim lesson for 2 years. She started helping coach the swim team this summer and loves the outdoors, rock climbing, and boating. She also enjoys doing triathlons and any other sport!
Availability:Mark has limited availability for lessons on Saturday afternoons. Please contact him for any current openings.
IMPORTANT: Accepts only swimmers who are already proficient in all 4 competitive strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle). With a strong competitive swim team background, Mark’s skills are best used to help improve or move swimmers to a competitive level.
Certification & Experience:
Bio: Mark has been involved with swimming for over 15 years, coaching for the Devil Ray Aquatic Team (USA Swimming Competitive Team) for over 3 years, and providing private instruction for over 8 years. His oldest daughter Brianna, one of Utah’s top female swimmer in recent years, swam for the University of Utah (2013-2017) in the PAC 12 conference.
Involved and having been certified for coaching through both USA Swimming and the American Swimming Coaches Association, Mark’s skills are best used in helping strengthen stroke technique for swimmers who want to increase their stroke proficiency for the competitive swim environment. He also can help increase the skill level in wall transitions, flip turns, underwater kicks, and starts.
He has also had experience helping tri-athletes interested in wanting to improve the swimming portion of their race. With a focus on body position, stroke balance and maximizing stroke efficiency, he can help prepare tri-athletes improve their swimming for either pool or open water competition environments.
Knowledgeable about the competitive environment within USA competition club swimming, Mark journeyed with his daughter Brianna through her competition experiences from 7 years old through college. Through this experience, Mark has come to understand much about competitive swimming and enjoys helping swimmers and their families make this transition from swim lessons and pre-competition teams into more competitive settings. He would love the opportunity to work with you or your swimmers.
Mark has been married to his wife Laura for over 27 years and currently resides in Sandy with their three remaining children (10 yrs – 16 yrs), their oldest (Brianna) now married and living out of state.

I have taught lessons for 5 years, but have been swimming all my life. I am trained in Red Cross and Starfish styles of teaching. I love the water and will try to encourage that enthusiasm for my students as well. I have the most experience in beginning skills, adaptive aquatics, and stroke
improvement (such as for triathlon training).

Morgan started teaching swim lessons nearly 10 years ago. In that time she has also coached several swim teams, and spent 4 years as an aquatic program coordinator with Salt Lake County. She has experience with all ages and ability levels as well as adaptive work. Having a positive experience in a safe environment is top priority for Morgan. Please include your or your child's skill levels, goals, and preferred day and time when contacting.

Bio: "Swimming is something I am passionate about and I enjoy teaching others." Nick has been swimming since he was 13 years old. He competed on the Gene Fullmer Stingray Swim team and moved on to swim for West Jordan High School and the Wasatch Front Fish Market (WFFM). He now teaches and has taught swimming lessons to all ages for
over 5 years, from parents in water with 6-18 month old children to toddlers, teens, and adults.
Nick has taught at Gene Fullmer Recreation Center, Marv Jensen Recreation Center, South Jordan Aquatic Center, and Lifetime Fitness. Whether you're wanting to learn basic water safety to preparing for a swim team, Josh can assist you in reaching your swimming goals.

Bio:Whether you are looking for an instructor to teach you or your kids the basics, to learning the strokes, to refining your technique, Tiani is here to make it a fun, enjoyable and safe experience! Tiani teaches all ages and all skill levels. She has been swimming competitively since age 9, and instructing and coaching swimmers for 5 years. She is excited to help you or your kids become safe, comfortable and proficient in the water!
