How do I apply for a job with Salt Lake County?
When viewing jobs on the
Salt Lake County Job Board
, select "Apply Now" and follow the instructions. If you have not applied with us before, you will need to create a profile. Creating a profile does not mean you have applied for the job, please be sure to submit a final application. Once the application is submitted, you will receive an email requesting that you complete a standard

Can I be notified when jobs are posted?
You can request to be notified when jobs you may be interested in are posted. Once you create a profile, select the "My Job Agent" button, then "Add Job Agent". Here you can choose your areas of interest. The system will then send an email notification when a related job is posted.
How do I apply for a Sheriff's positions?

What if I forgot my password or my account is locked?
If you forgot the password to your account, please select the "Forgot your password?" link below the login and follow the instructions. You will receive an email with a temporary password. Use this password to log in and create a new password. Please do not copy and paste the temporary password. This may cause errors.
If your account is locked, do NOT create a new account. Please call Salt Lake County Human Resources at 385-468-0570 to unlock your account.
How do I attach other documents?
When logged into your account, go to the "Edit Profile" section. At the bottom of the page there is a link to "Attach Other Document". Use this button to browse for your file. Once you have uploaded your document you will not see it. If you are unsure if your document uploaded properly, please contact Salt Lake County Human Resources at 385-468-0570 to verify. You may also email your documents to
or fax them to 385-468-0571. Please be sure to include your name and which job you applied for.
Why can't I see my attachments?
Your profile will not display which documents you have uploaded. If you have questions or concerns regarding your attachments, please contact Human Resources at 385-468-0570 or

A cover letter is not required unless specifically requested in the job posting.
Do I need to provide references?
References may be requested during the interview stage of the application process. They are not required before.
What should I include with my application?
When applying for a job with Salt Lake County you will need to create a profile (if you have not already done so), apply for the job online, and then complete the

Do I need to complete a separate online application for each position I apply for?
You will need to apply for each job separately and it is preferred that you complete a new
for each job you have applied to. If you have recently applied for another position and the information on your online application is current, you are not required to complete another online application, unless it is requested by the Human Resources division.
If I took a skills test recently, do I need to take it again?
Yes. Each skills test is connected to the specific job you have applied to.

Once you have applied for a position, you will receive an email confirming your application. In this email you will be requested to complete the
