Caring for Seniors

Last week I had the chance to participate in the county’s Meals on Wheels program by delivering meals to seniors; many of whom are homebound. While making deliveries, I had a nice conversation with Shirley, who told me how much she values our Meals on Wheels program – not only because of the nutritious meals, but also because of the friendship she has formed with the volunteer who regularly brings her the meals.
One of the great things about Meals on Wheels is that it isn’t just a government program – it’s a community program. Salt Lake County partners with individuals and businesses to ensure the meals get where they need to be; to our hungry, elderly neighbors.
