New Solar Panel Project In Kearns

This week I participated in the groundbreaking of a new solar panel project at the Olympic Oval in Kearns Township. Instead of talking about the future of clean energy, we’re actually seeing it take shape right here in Kearns.
My family and I have enjoyed so many national and international events here, and look forward to many more. As the local government for the Kearns Township, we’re always looking for ways to enhance the quality of life for the residents and families of Kearns. This exciting new project is one of
The project will help save $100,000 in energy costs, promotes clean air, and will make the Olympic Oval even more of a community asset.
I’m very pleased that our
Office of Township Services committed $200,000 to this project and am grateful to the Salt Lake County Council for their support and leadership. I’d also like to thank Rocky Mountain Power for putting up what is their largest solar incentive program grant to date -
$564,000. I’m excited to return in a few months to actually see the solar array power up.
