Deputy Mayor/Chief Administrative Officer
Erin Litvack served as the Director of the Salt Lake County Community Services Department for 12 years before being promoted to Deputy Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer in January 2017. Prior to joining Salt Lake County in 2005, Erin worked for and held a variety of positions at the Milwaukee and Salt Lake Jewish Community Centers and was the Fund Development the Utah Pride Center and March of Dimes. Erin is a member of the Visit Salt Lake Executive Committee, Downtown Alliance Board of Directors and numerous Salt Lake County advisory boards. Erin enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, learning and community volunteer service. Erin lives in Salt Lake City with her husband, David, and their two children, Gabriel and Addison.

Stephanie is a Salt Lake Community College graduate and is working on her BA in English from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining the mayor's office, Stephanie worked in the Utah Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Constituent Relations Specialist
Samantha is a University of Utah graduate, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in both History and Political Science. Upon graduation, she served as a City Year AmeriCorps Member in Detroit, Michigan. Most recently, Sam was an intern in the Salt Lake County Mayor's Office before being hired full time.

Alyson Heyrend is a journalism graduate from Utah State University. She worked for more than 15 years in print and broadcast journalism in Utah and Idaho, holding positions as a producer, a reporter and a news anchor. She also worked as director of development and communication for the Nature Conservancy, a nonprofit environmental organization. From 2001-2012, Alyson served as Communications Director for Utah Congressman Jim Matheson.

Michelle joined the McAdams team in January 2013 as his Deputy Communications Director, and before that, she worked as Communications Specialist for Salt Lake County in former Mayor Peter Corroon’s office. Michelle is a California native who moved to Utah in 2000 and graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She is currently pursuing a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Utah. Michelle lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and young son.

Prior to joining Mayor McAdams’ administration Kimberly Barnett (Kimi) proudly served with Mayor Peter Corroon during his last term in office. Her emphasis was on environmental policy and intergovernmental relations. Among other priorities, she continues to manage environmental policy for the McAdams administration. She received her MPA from the University of Utah in 2004. Prior to joining Salt Lake County she spent many years in the nonprofit sector.

Emma has worked in various roles with Salt Lake County since 2002. She began her career in Aging Services as center manager for the Sunday Anderson Westside Senior which is the first center in the state to be nationally accredited. In 2006 Emma became the Assistant Program Manager for the Active Aging Centers Program and managed 8 of the 16 county facilities.
A longtime community volunteer, Emma has been on the county's Council on Diversity Affairs since 2013. She is the former chairwoman of the Governor's Office of Ethnic Affairs and currently serves on the YWCA Board, UAA/SCANS Board, Reverend France A. Davis Scholarship Board, and is the president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Upsilon Beta Omega Chapter.
Emma hails from Texas, lived in Florida for 10 years and has been a resident of Utah since 1986. Emma has two lovely daughters who are married to her two amazing son-in-law’s. Emma brings her collaborative skills and community connections to the position and looks forward to working with all communities.

Elizabeth Mitchell joined Mayor McAdams' team in January 2015, focused primarily in the areas of data, innovation and performance. She spearheads the Mayor's MetroStat performance management program, in addition to planning, implementing and
tracking critical projects and partnerships associated with the mayor’s innovation initiatives. Elizabeth was most recently Director of Public Affairs at Empire State Development, New York State's economic development agency. Earlier in her career, she managed communications and marketing at a non-profit serving
New York City public school students. Elizabeth has a B.A. in English and Art History from Bucknell University and an M.A. in Journalism from Syracuse University.

Kendra joined Mayor McAdams’ administration in October 2015 with a background in program management in the travel and tourism industry. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with an emphasis on journalism and communications from Colorado State University. After college, Kendra served on the leadership committee of the Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America while also working as an account executive for the local independent newspaper under RamPR, the student run public relations firm. In 2008, Kendra left Colorado for Utah so she could live closer to family and enjoy the greatest snow on earth.
Kendra resides in Park City, Utah and is excited to work with Salt Lake County to make a positive impact on our local community.

Sarah Brenna is the Director of Salt Lake County Administrative Services Department. The department provides internal customer support for all county agencies and contracts with various agencies such as the Unified Police Department and Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District. The Department oversees contracts and procurement, facilities management, real estate, printing, fleet management, human resources, information technology and volunteer services. Sarah has over 24 years working in state and local government. Prior to joining Salt Lake County in 2010, Sarah held a variety of positions at the Department of Workforce Services (DWS); including program manager responsible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Refugee Services, General Assistance, trade programs, and the Workforce Investment Act. She also served as the department’s legislative director and policy analyst. Sarah received a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Utah in 2005.

Carlton Christensen was appointed by Mayor Ben McAdams in August 2013 to the newly created position of Director of Regional Development for Salt Lake County. The position was created to better address Salt Lake County’s role as a premier regional government and to help direct and take a stronger lead in issues that affect the entire county.
Carlton has a long history of public service. He recently completed his final term, after 16 years of service, as a Salt Lake City Councilman. Mr. Christensen is the Vice Chair of the Salt Lake City Redevelopment Agency, the President of the Associates Board for the Museum of Natural History of Utah, an ex officio member of the Salt Lake City Airport Board, and Chair of the Wasatch Front Economic Development District. Carlton also serves on the Board of Shelter the Homeless, and at Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s request, he is a member of the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council since 2010. Prior to joining Mayor McAdams' team, Carlton worked as a Community Development Representative for Zions Bank.
Carlton has a degree from the University of Utah. He and his wife, Cathleen, are the parents of two daughters, Jessica and Sarah.

Prior to joining Salt Lake County, Karen Crompton served as the President of Voices for Utah Children. During her 13 years at Voices, Karen received a number of awards including the Outstanding Achievement Award in Government and Public Service from the YWCA of Salt Lake and the Florette Angel Award for “exceptional leadership, perceptive organizational vision, innovative advocacy, and effective service on behalf of children and their families” from Voices for America’s Children. She previously worked for Sears, Roebuck & Company for 18 years in a number of regional and national management positions. Karen is a graduate of the University of Utah.

Darrin C. Casper is the Chief Financial Officer for Salt Lake County Government serving at the pleasure of Mayor Ben McAdams. Darrin has served in this capacity for eight years. Darrin previously served as the County Council’s Chief Fiscal Officer and prior to that as a department fiscal manager. He has been employed with Salt Lake County government for 15 years. Primary work responsibilities include protecting Salt Lake County’s assets, and its coveted AAA bond rating. The CFO is responsible for the county organizations of Accounting, Budgeting, and Finance. Its mission also includes being a strategic partner of direct service provider organizations that serve the citizens of Salt Lake County.
Darrin is married to Christine Elliott Casper. Together they have three boys, Elliott, Samuel, and Quinn. Darrin is an avid outdoor enthusiast, favorites include skiing, hiking and fly fishing.
Darrin graduated from Boston University with a Master’s of Business Administration and with a B.S. in Accounting from Utah State University.
