Salt Lake County Mayor selects new Administrative Services Department Head
Salt Lake City, UT—Salt
Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams has chosen Megan Hillyard as the new Director of
the Department of Administrative Services. The selection was approved by the
Salt Lake County Council during Tuesday’s meeting.
says Hillyard has served Salt Lake County in numerous capacities, including,
most recently, as the Associate Deputy Mayor of Finance and Administration. Before that, Hillyard was the Associate Director of the Administrative Services
Department. The department oversees a variety of county divisions, including
Facilities, Contract & Procurement, and Information Services, with a budget
of more than $53 million.

skills and experience serving them in this management role. She shares my
commitment to fiscally responsible budget policies and to operating government
efficiently and effectively,” said Mayor McAdams.
was hired as the Community Relations Specialist in July 2008, serving former
Mayor Peter Corroon. She has also worked for a member of the County Council and
has overseen several large initiatives for Mayor McAdams, including recent
development of the two new District Attorney buildings.
is a graduate of the University of Utah, where she received a BA degree in
English and a master’s degree in International Affairs and Global Enterprise.
She is married and enjoys running, cycling and traveling.
