Fall TeeBallFALL TEEBALL & COACH-PITCH BASEBALL  

Fall TeeBall and Coach Pitch Baseball is for all youth 3 to 8 years old. This recreational baseball program is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball and promote sportsmanship in a fun, fair environment. Two games will be played each week at the Oquirrh Park baseball fields (next to Beehive Elementary). One on a Tuesday or Thursday evening and the other Saturday morning beginning September 13, 2016.

 

 

FALL YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL  Fall Flag Football

Our Fall Flag Football program is a non-contact recreation football league for all boys and girls in 1st through 6th grades. The focus of this program will be on learning the fundamentals of football in a fun, fair environment. Two games are played each week - one on a weeknight and the other one on Saturdays beginning September 13, 2016 at one of the following locations: 

  • Oquirrh Park
  • West View Park
  • Taylorsville Recreation Center fields
  • Redwood Recreation Center fields

 

 

Youth VolleyballDIG-IT! YOUTH VOLLEYBALL

Dig-It! Volleyball is an instructional youth volleyball program for all youth in 3rd through 8th grades designed to focus on learning the basics and improving skills. Practices & games start with an instructional clinic on September 10, 2016 and practices and games will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays at Kearns High.

  

 

FALL OUTDOOR SOCCER Fall Outdoor Soccer

Fall Outdoor Soccer is one of our more popular programs so register early to reserve your spot! This program is for all youth from Pre-K (at least 3 years old) through 6th grade with traveling 7th to 12th grade leagues. Two games are played each week - one on a weeknight (Monday thru Thursday) and the other one on Saturdays. Pre-K through 6th grade leagues will play at the Oquirrh Park Soccer Fields.  Travel leagues will play at various west-side locations. Leagues begin September 10, 2016. Cost is $36 and includes 8 sessions, full team uniform (jersey, shorts, socks), and a participation award. 

  

 

HEAD INJURY POLICY - In March of 2011, Governor Gary Herbert signed HB 204 into law. This bill, known as the "Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act" requires all parents / legal guardians to receive a copy of our policy outlining procedures for protecting young athletes. You will be required to read this policy and agree to its terms before registering online or in person - Head Injury Release Form. Feel free to call us if you would like more information. Youth Sports Coach Certification and Discount Program. Receive a discount on your child's registration if you complete the course and volunteer to coach. We offer a variety of programs to keep your children busy during the upcoming summer season. Come check out the fun!

DANCE CLASSES

Dance Classes

Get Up & Dance! Come join our newly revised dance program! Classes for youth ages 3 and up will be held on Tuesday evenings at the Kearns Recreation Center.

 

Ages 3-5 Introduction to Dance and Movement - 5:45 to 6:30 P.M. NOTE: 3 year olds will be admitted initially on a trial basis. This class is designed to introduce dance and movement. Students will learn the basics in dance technique as well as be introduction to choreography while they explore the elements of dance. 

Ages 6-9 Beginning Ballet - 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. This class is designed to introduce the basics of ballet. We will focus on building a strong foundation for the student as a growing dancer. Students will learn basic ballet techniques and incorporate them into choreography.  

NEW CLASS! Ages 10 + Beginning / Intermediate Dance - 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. This class will explore basic techniques in different styles of dance, mostly including ballet, jazz and modern dance. Students will use skills in coordination, balance, flexibility, movement, memory and musicality to become more diversified dancers.

 

 

Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do KarateA children’s program to help your child not only increase their fitness, flexibility and strength, but will also boost their confidence and self-discipline all while having fun!

Our adult program offers a workout that includes strength training, physical conditioning, flexibility, self-discipline, and street smarts put together in a comprehensive program.

CHILD CARE  

Our State-licensed Child Care programs run year-round. We now have openings for your child.

 

REFERRAL INCENTIVE! - We now offer a $50 credit towards your childcare if you refer someone who signs their children up for our childcare programs.

 

CHILD CARE STAFF!

Childcare ProgramsWe are currently accepting applications for child care staff especially kitchen workers and large van drivers. Several shifts available throughout the week Monday - Friday and hours are somewhat flexible. Kitchen workers must be 18 years old and drivers must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license. Year-Round State-Licensed Child Care

We operate a State-licensed full-time child care operation with programs for Pre-School, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Before / After School and Jordan District Off-Track schedules. While your children are at our facility, we will provide them with a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development. Activities your children will participate in include cognitive and social skills learning, arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few. Child care programs are closed on the following holidays and tuition credits are not available for these days:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Pioneer Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
  • Christmas Day

 

We ask that you do not send toys, candy, gum or money from home in order to prevent lost or broken personal items and to prevent conflicts between children.

 

Specific information on our Child Care Programs: 

 

Children will participate in a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development including arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few.

We complete thorough background checks on all teachers and volunteers. Teachers receive a minimum of 20 hours of annual training to update their skills and improve their interaction with your children. We provide meals and snacks through a regulated and nationally recognized food program. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and waiting lists are taken to fill vacancies that become available.
