Youth Sports




Learn the basics or improve your skills at Spock's Skateboard Camps. Camps will run 3 to 4 weeks on Monday mornings from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Kearns Skate Park in June, July and August. This program is for all youth 6 to 14 years old. Participants will discuss skate park etiquette, learn both basic skills and new tricks from professional instructors. Skaters will be grouped by ability on the first day of camp and work with instructors to learn skills and tricks at their own pace.




Salt Lake Bees TeeBall and Coach Pitch Baseball is for all TeeBallyouth 3 to 8 years old. This recreational baseball program is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball and promote sportsmanship in a fun, fair environment. TeeBall is for youth 3 to 6 years old and Coach Pitch is for youth 7 and 8 years old. Two games will be played each week - one on a weeknight evening and the other on Saturdays at the Oquirrh Park baseball fields (next to Beehive Elementary School) - approximately 5655 South 5220 West beginning April 16, 2016. Spring Outdoor SoccerOutdoor Soccer is one of our most popular programs so register early to reserve your spot! This program is for all youth from Pre-K (at least 3 years old) through 6th grade with 7th-12th grades traveling leagues. Two games are played each week - one on a weeknight (Monday thru Thursday) and the other one on Saturdays. Pre-K through 6th grade leagues will play at the Oquirrh Park Soccer Fields.  Travel leagues will play at various west-side locations. Leagues begin April 9, 2016. Game Schedules now available!




This is an instructional youth volleyball program designed to Youth Volleyballfocus on learning the basics and improving skills. Dig-It! Volleyball is for all youth in 3rd through 8th grades beginning with an instructional clinic on April 9, 2016. Grades 3 - 5 will practice and play on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Grades 6 - 8 will practice and play on Mondays and Saturdays. All practices and games will be held at Kearns High School.




HEAD INJURY POLICY - In March of 2011, Governor Gary Herbert signed HB 204 into law. This bill, known as the "Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act" requires all parents / legal guardians to receive a copy of our policy outlining procedures for protecting young athletes. You will be required to read this policy and agree to its terms before registering online or in person - Head Injury Release Form. Feel free to call us if you would like more information. Dance Classes

Get Up & Dance! Come join our newly revised dance program! Classes for youth ages 3 and up will be held on Tuesday evenings at the Kearns Recreation Center.


Ages 3-5 Introduction to Dance and Movement - 5:45 to 6:30 P.M. This class is designed to introduce students to dance and movement by learning basic dance techniques and introduction to choreography.  

Ages 6 + Beginning Ballet - 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. This class is designed to introduce the basics of ballet. We will focus on building a strong foundation for the student as a growing dancer.



Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do KarateA children’s program to help your child not only increase their fitness, flexibility and strength, but will also boost their confidence and self-discipline all while having fun!

Our adult program offers a workout that includes strength training, physical conditioning, flexibility, self-discipline, and street smarts put together in a comprehensive program.

Our State-licensed Child Care programs run year-round. We now have openings for your child.


REFERRAL INCENTIVE! - We now offer a $50 credit towards your childcare if you refer someone who signs their children up for our childcare programs.



Childcare ProgramsWe are currently accepting applications for child care staff summer camp staff including kitchen workers, camp counselors and large van drivers. Several shifts available throughout the week Monday - Friday and hours are somewhat flexible. Camp counselors must be 16 years old and drivers must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license. We are also hiring summer camp adaptive inclusion staff to work with our summer camp special needs children. Please call Terrie or Dave at 385-468-1715 to apply or for more information.


Year-Round State-Licensed Child Care

We operate a State-licensed full-time child care operation with programs for Pre-School, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Before / After School and Jordan District Off-Track schedules. While your children are at our facility, we will provide them with a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development. Activities your children will participate in include cognitive and social skills learning, arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few. Child care programs are closed on the following holidays and tuition credits are not available for these days:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Pioneer Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
  • Christmas Day


We ask that you do not send toys, candy, gum or money from home in order to prevent lost or broken personal items and to prevent conflicts between children.


Specific information on our Child Care Programs: 


Children will participate in a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development including arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few.

We complete thorough background checks on all teachers and volunteers. Teachers receive a minimum of 20 hours of annual training to update their skills and improve their interaction with your children. We provide meals and snacks through a regulated and nationally recognized food program. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and waiting lists are taken to fill vacancies that become available.
