SUMMER SKATE CAMPS

Summer Skate CampsLearn the basics or improve your skills at Spock's Skateboard Camps. Camps will run 4 weeks (3 weeks in August) on Monday mornings from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Kearns Skate Park. This program is for all youth 6 to 14 years old. Participants will discuss skate park etiquette and learn how to ollie and grind and learn new tricks from professional instructors. Skaters will be grouped by ability on the first day of camp and work with instructors to learn skills and tricks at their own pace.

 

 

SALT LAKE BEES SUMMER TEEBALL & COACH-PITCH BASEBALL

Salt Lake Bees Summer TeeBall and Coach Pitch Baseball is Summer Tee Ballfor all youth 3 to 8 years old. This is a recreational baseball program to teach the fundamentals of baseball and promote sportsmanship in a fun, fair environment. TeeBall is for youth 3 to 6 years old and Coach Pitch for youth 7 and 8 years old. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Oquirrh Park baseball fields (next to Beehive Elementary)beginning June 16, 2015. Game Schedules now available!

 

 

SUMMER OUTDOOR SOCCER

Summer SoccerThis program is for all youth from Pre-K (at least 3 years old) through 6th grade. Each team will play two games each week at the Oquirrh Park Soccer fields, 5850 South 4800 West, as follows (tentative schedule): 

  • Pre-K (3 & 4 year olds) - Mondays & Wednesdays
  • Kindergarten - Mondays & Wednesdays
  • 1st & 2nd Grades - Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • 3rd & 4th Grades - Mondays & Wednesdays
  • 5th & 6th Grades - Tuesdays & Thursdays

HEAD INJURY POLICY - In March of 2011, Governor Gary Herbert signed HB 204 into law. This bill, known as the "Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act" requires all parents / legal guardians to receive a copy of our policy outlining procedures for protecting young athletes. You will be required to read this policy and agree to its terms before registering online or in person - Head Injury Release Form. Feel free to call us if you would like more information. DANCE CLASSES

Dance Classes

GET UP AND DANCE! New Summer Schedule & Classes offered on Tuesday evenings:

Ages 3-5 Introduction to Dance & Movement runs from 5:45 to 6:30 P.M.  Students will learn the basics in dance technique as well as be introduced to choreography. Young dancers will be able to gain skills in coordination, balance, memory, flexibility and movement. Most importantly, they will have fun and make new friends.

Ages 6+ Beginner Dance runs from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Students will be taught the basics of dance technique as well as be introduced to choreography. This class will focus on building a strong base for students to grow as dancers. Dancers can expect to gain skills in coordination, balance, fitness, memory, flexibility and movement as well as musicality and timing.

Ages 10+ Intermediate Dance runs from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. ** Any student wanting to join the intermediate class must first come to the beginner level class and receive instructor approval. This class is designed to build from the basic techniques. Dancers will be taught combinations each week in varying styles. Students will then be able to expand their ability to learn choreography as well as have opportunities to choreograph their own combinations.

Callie Short, our new dance teacher, comes with years of dance and choreography experience and is excited to take this program to the next level!

 

 

Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do KarateA children’s program to help your child not only increase their fitness, flexibility and strength, but will also boost their confidence and self-discipline all while having fun!

Our adult program offers a workout that includes strength training, physical conditioning, flexibility, self-discipline, and street smarts put together in a comprehensive program.

Our State-licensed Child Care programs run year-round. We now have openings for your child.

Year-Round State-Licensed Child Care

We operate a State-licensed full-time child care operation with programs for Pre-School, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Before / After School and Jordan District Off-Track schedules. While your children are at our facility, we will provide them with a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development. Activities your children will participate in include cognitive and social skills learning, arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few. Child care programs are closed on the following holidays and tuition credits are not available for these days:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Pioneer Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
  • Christmas Day

 

We ask that you do not send toys, candy, gum or money from home in order to prevent lost or broken personal items and to prevent conflicts between children.

 

Specific information on our Child Care Programs: 

 

Children will participate in a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development including arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few.

We complete thorough background checks on all teachers and volunteers. Teachers receive a minimum of 20 hours of annual training to update their skills and improve their interaction with your children. We provide meals and snacks through a regulated and nationally recognized food program. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and waiting lists are taken to fill vacancies that become available.
