There are two different types of volunteers at Youth Services: regular, ongoing volunteers and one-time volunteers.
To be a one-time volunteer, call or e-mail email@example.com or 385.468.4500 to set the day and time. One-time volunteers can either be one person or a group; no more than 10 people should plan on coming at one time. Groups should plan on providing the activity that they would like to do with the youth.
Step One: Complete your application
After browsing our website, if you decide that the Youth Services volunteer program is right for you, please complete the online volunteer application. We begin processing your application as soon as we receive it. After we have received your application, we will assess our current volunteer needs and contact you.
Step Two: Volunteer Packet & Background Check
You will receive the Youth Services volunteer packet, which includes guidelines, policies & procedures, as well as the required background check application. You will have the option of: filling it out at home to be returned to Youth Services at your convenience or you may complete the packet at the completion of the tour. (Please note that a state issued photo ID and copy of your social security card are required in order to process your background check). We will contact you once your background check has been cleared.
Step Four: Attend Volunteer Orientation
Upon approval; you will be invited to attend the next new volunteer orientation session. This training is offered at Youth Services, on the first Thursday of every month from 3-4 pm in the administration conference room.
Step Five: Schedule your visits
After attending the new volunteer orientation, the process is considered complete! You will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator to create your desired volunteer schedule and may begin volunteering with the youth and children. Schedules are reviewed quarterly (every 3 months) by the volunteer coordinator, at which time you are welcome to make any necessary changes to your schedule.
