The Tax Sale is designed to best protect the financial interests of the delinquent property owner while also meeting the needs of local governments to collect delinquent property taxes.
On or about March 16th of each year, the County Treasurer files a “Tax Sale Listing” with the County Auditor of parcels of real property which have unpaid property taxes which have been delinquent for over four years. Properties may be removed
from this list by paying the delinquent property taxes to the
County Treasurer at any time prior to the tax sale. The Auditor offers for sale properties remaining on the list on the day of the sale. The 2017 Tax Sale will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 8:30 am in the Council Chambers of the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 South State Street, Room N1-110.
