Checking to see if your case has already been expunged:

If you think your case qualified for automatic expungement and you want to check if it has happened:

  • If you have a copy of your case number you can access this information at MyCase.
  • If you do not have a copy of your case number, you will need to look it up using the Xchange case search service.
  • Public terminals with free Xchange access are available at most district court locations.

Once you are on MyCase and you enter in the case number, you will be able to see a private record that is only accessible by you if it has been expunged:

                    Graphical user interface, text, application.

Limited information for expunged cases will be available in MyCase. Expunged cases will display the following in MyCase:

  • The case number and case title will be listed in the dropdown with linked cases and the defendant’s name listed as “Case Expunged.”

 

  • The following will display:

○ “Case Expunged”

○ Case title with the defendant’s name listed as “Case Expunged”

○ Court location

○ Case type

○ Case Number (parties won’t have access to the case history)

○ File Date

○ Assigned Judge

○ Next Hearing

○ Original Claim or Amount if Controversy (if applicable)

 

  • The following sections will be hidden:

○ Parties

○ Charges

○ Account

○ Filed documents

○ eDocument Preparation
