    A standard field trip lasts two to three hours and can include:

    • Exploration time in our exhibits (about 20 to 30 minutes between shows, or longer if pre-scheduled).
    • A presentation in our Hansen Dome Theatre.
    • A film in our Northrop Grumman IMAX Theater.
    • A live presentation around our Science on a Sphere display.
    • Time in our Planet Fun gift shop.

    Reservation Forms

    Please note: these forms have specific drop-down lists and questions. If you do not have Microsoft Excel, you will need to contact us at the telephone number listed above to make your reservation. It will not help to submit these forms in any other format (PDF, GoogleDocs, etc.).

    Download and complete the appropriate document. Attach it to an email and send it to reservations@clarkplanetarium.org. If you have not received a reservation confirmation or reply to your e-mail within two weeks, please contact us at the telephone number listed above.

    Reservation Guidelines

    • Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.
    • Reservations can only be made for groups of 20 or more people. (Some exceptions apply.)
    • All reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance.
    • Reservation requests are not guaranteed until you receive a final confirmation sheet and confirmation number.

    Tickets Payment and Pricing:

    • A single sum payment is required for your entire group. Group members paying separately will be charged regular ticket prices.
    • Payment can be made by credit card, cash, check, or purchase orders (Utah public schools only).
    • Any changes in your group’s size may increase or decrease the total cost for the field trip.

    Tax Exemptions

    To qualify for tax exempt purchases, you must provide your tax-exempt number on a completed TC-721 or TC-721G form.  If you do not provide a form to the Clark Planetarium, you are considered a taxable group and either charged or invoiced for the taxed amount.

    Chaperones and Behavior

    • Teachers and adult chaperones are responsible for managing student behavior. In the event of disruptive behavior, Clark Planetarium reserves the right to ask any group to leave the facility.
    • We require one chaperone for every 10 students.
    • Chaperones are required to be with your students at all times during the visit. Chaperones are expected to keep students respectful of one another, of other guests, and of the Planetarium and its staff.

    Special Needs or Accommodations

    • Wheelchair seating and ADA elevators are available for both the Hansen Dome and the Northrop Grumman Theaters.
    • Up to four closed-caption monitors are available for select titles in the Northrop Grumman IMAX Theater. These can be requested at the tickets desk on the day of your visit.
    • ASL interpreters can be lit by red lights in the Hansen Dome and Northrop Grumman IMAX Theaters. These must be scheduled with the Reservations Coordinator ahead of your visit.

    Food and Lunch

    • No food is allowed in either the exhibit galleries or the Hansen Dome Theater.
    • Concessions purchased at the concessions stand may only be eaten in the concessions area and the Northrop Grumman IMAX Theater.
    • We have is no interior lunch space. Optional areas to eat at Gateway include the grassy plaza near the fountains at the north end of the mall, and the Union Pacific Building (contact them at 801-456-2000 several days prior to your visit to set up a reservation).

    Public Transportation
