Where is the County Ice Center located?

The address is 5201 South Murray Park Lane (160 East).  We are just east of state street, just north of 5300 south, and just south of Murray Park, on the site of the old Salt Lake County Fair Grounds.

Is the County Ice Center open year round?

Yes, we are a year-round, indoor ice skating facility.

Can I rent County Ice?

Yes, rent the facility for parties and other group gatherings.  Available time is generally harder to come by during the busy seasons (Sep-Mar) and easier during the slower seasons (Apr-Aug).  The cost to rent the facility is $180 per hour during prime time hours (M-F, 4-10 PM and ALL DAY Sat & Sun), and $160 per hour during non-prime hours.

The hours available for public skating are limited. What goes on in the facility the rest of the time?

We have a large variety of skating and hockey programs that utilize the County Ice Center including Learn-to-Skate lessons, figure skating, instructional hockey, youth hockey, adult hockey, high school hockey, women's hockey, and sled hockey to name a few.

Do you offer party programs?

Yes.  Most parties are birthday or family parties and they are done during public skating sessions.  There are discounted groups rates for groups of 20 or more people.

There is also a party room that is available for rent for $15 per hour.  We have a limited selection of food items we can offer for a party, but most people bring their own food.

Renting the entire facility may also be an option for large group parties.

Do you offer skating lessons?

The Learn-to-Skate program offers skating lessons for all ages and abilities.

Do you offer freestyle skating sessions for more advanced figure skaters?

Do you offer hockey programs for kids?

Beginning level players ages 5-14 enter the program through the Learn-to-Play Instructional Program.  Learn-to-Play is followed by the Salt Lake County Youth Hockey League Program.

Do you offer adult hockey programs?

Yes. Salt Lake County runs 2 Adult Hockey League Programs during the year.  The Fall/Winter program runs from October to April.  The Spring/Summer program runs from May to August.  Contact Chris Billeter (385) 468-1970 at the Acord Ice Center for specific information.

Also, County Ice Center operates a Learn-to-Play Hockey program for beginning level adults that takes place during the spring and summer.
