District Attorney’s Office Files Multiple Felony Charges against
Man for Alleged Kidnapping, Attempted Homicide
Salt Lake City, UT – The Salt Lake
County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday the filing of numerous
felony charges against Valentin Dulla Santarromana, 37, for his alleged role in
kidnapping and attempting to kill two women on August 22, 2015 in Salt Lake
County. As more fully set forth in the attached Statement of Probable
Cause, it is alleged that Santarromana held two women, identified as “J.A.” and
“J.J.H.” against their will in a Salt Lake County home. Santarromana was
allegedly armed with a handgun and meat cleaver.
defendant shot J.J.H. 15 times. Santarromana allegedly sexually assaulted J.A.
and shot her five times. When SWAT police arrived at the residence,
Santarromana allegedly fired several shots at them. Please refer to the
attached Statement of Probable Cause for a more thorough description of the
allegations against Mr. Santarromana.

Information. Counts one through 15 allege First Degree Felonies, each of
which is punishable by a sentence of up to life in prison. The remaining
counts (16 to 31) allege Second and Third Degree Felonies which are punishable
by up to 15 years and five years, respectively.
