Grassroots Leadership Organizers
We are hiring our next cohort of Grassroots Leadership Organizers to join our team at United Way of Salt Lake. Our Grassroots Leadership team works to ensure that families and community voices can lead the charge in transforming our communities. Now, we are searching for aspiring community organizers who live, breathe, reflect, and intimately know the neighborhoods and communities in which we work.
This is a paid fellowship—a training and practice program lasting 12 months (July 2019 until June 2020). Throughout the duration of the fellowship, our Grassroots Leadership Organizers will come up with creative community initiatives to improve participation from families in schools in South Salt Lake and Kearns. They will receive training in community organizing, meeting facilitation, event planning, deep canvassing, and leadership development.
Our Grassroots Leadership Organizers, will receive a wage of $15 an hour and work an average of 15 hours week. Applicants must speak fluently both English and either Spanish, Somali, Swahili, Arabic, Nepali, or any other languages spoken by migrant communities in Utah. For more information, please click here.
