The Facilities Management Electronics crew works on a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment and systems including; Security and Fire Alarm systems, Security Card Access, Security Cameras, Electric Door Locks and Audio and Visual Systems. The section has created County Electronics Systems Standards for all new construction and reviews all specifications and drawings for contracted construction and renovation projects.
The section initiated in-house installation of security sensitive systems for all new county construction projects. We are able to install these systems for less expense than a contractor while decreasing security risk associated with outside contractors having knowledge of our sensitive systems.
The Electronics Services team operates with six team members with over 180 years of combined service. One member served in the US Navy reserves with 30 years in service. The section has one state Master Electrician, six licensed Journeyman Electricians and one Electrical Contractors License, five state Fire Alarm Technicians and four Burglar Alarm Technicians. Five members of the team have completed Electrical Apprenticeships from local Community Colleges.
At various times during their career, one or more of our technicians have visited manufacturers for highly technical instruction. Members of our crew have received factory training for Flir Infrared Technologies, Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA), Morse Watchman Security Products, EST Fire Alarms, Closed Circuit Television Training Institute and PELCO Security Camera Training.
