The Facilities Management HVAC crew works on a wide variety of heating and cooling equipment including electronic, electric and DDC control systems, pneumatic control systems, chillers, boilers and other hydronic systems, roof top heating and cooling units, air handling units and a variety of air distribution systems. Additionally, we service and repair swimming pool heating equipment and industrial ice floor equipment. We service a variety of restaurant and kitchen equipment including reach-in coolers and freezers, walk-in coolers and freezers, steam cooking equipment, ice makers, ice dispensers and so on.
At various times during their career, one or more of our technicians have visited manufacturers for highly technical instruction. Members of our crew have received factory training at;
- Alerton (maker of our DDC control package)
- Aerco Boilers
- McQuay Air Conditioning
- Frick (maker of the ammonia refrigerant machinery used by our ice rink chiller plants).
Additionally, our technicians have received training from manufacturer field representatives for;
- ABB variable speed drives
- Dunham-Bush chillers
- Carrier heat pumps
- various brands of ice makers
- Mitsubishi ductless split systems
- and many other brands and types of equipment
Credentials: The HVAC crew operates with 15 members with over 290 years of combined service. Three members have gone through military HVAC training. Four have completed Pipe Trades apprenticeship programs of 5 years each and have received their Journeyman Certificate. Seven members have complete HVAC training from trade schools or community colleges. Nine have completed three levels of RSES (Refrigeration Service Engineers Society) Technical Institute training.
