COVID-19 Testing

Salt Lake County Health Department operates three COVID test sites.

  • Appointments are not necessary
  • COVID testing is FREE
  • Testing is conducted via nasal swab. We do not offer testing via saliva.

Before you visit a site:

  • Note where at the location the site is, and how to enter and/or where to park.
  • Note the days and hours of operation for the site you intend to visit.
  • Decide which test you would like:
    • PCR (nasal swab): a laboratory test with results in 2-3 days.
Positive and negative results are highly accurate.
    • Antigen (nasal swab): a rapid test with results the same day.
Positive results are highly accurate but false negatives are possible, so people with symptoms who have a negative antigen test should be retested via PCR.
  • Register in advance here.
