The health department’s pollution prevention initiative is about helping businesses reducing or eliminate their release of pollutants, hazardous substances, or contaminants into the environment. We strive to protect human health, strengthen economic well-being, and preserve the environment for future generations to enjoy.
Whether a business is explicitly regulated by the health department or not, we offer education to a variety of industries about how they can use nontoxic of less toxic substances, modify their processes, and promote conservation overall to increase environmental consciousness and reduce materials that enter into the waste stream.
