Youth Hockey is a recreational level hockey program for boys and girls ages 6-15, operated at all three different Salt Lake County ice facilities.
Home Rink SelectionUpon registration, players will select one of the three facilities as their home rink, where all practices will be held, and approximately half of the games will be played. The other half of the games will be played at the other two county ice rinks.
Program PhilosophyYouth Hockey promotes the ideals of fair play, sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork, and physical fitness. Fun is the primary goal of the program, while also encouraging skill development of all players. Equal ice time and equal opportunity to play are the cornerstones of the program.
SportsmanshipThe desire to win often produces a style of play contrary to the principals of sportsmanship and fair play. While winning is certainly a consideration, it is not the only consideration, nor is it the most important part of the game. Salt Lake County will not tolerate such a style that ignores sportsmanship, fair play, and equal ice time.
