Asbestos
The Salt Lake Valley Landfill accepts friable and non-friable asbestos. Friable asbestos is accepted at the rate of $500/ ton and non-friable asbestos is accepted at $100/ton. Prices will be pro-rated according to the weight of the asbestos- containing material being disposed.

Campers and Boats
Dirt
Fill dirt is accepted at the soil rate. Some commercial quantities of dirt may be accepted at no charge. These loads Must be pre-approved by Tom Burrup. For specific standards and all questions regarding dirt disposal, please contact Tom Burrup via email.
Electronics
Furniture
Items such as couches, futons, mattresses, dressers, etc. are accepted. Additional fees for mattresses may apply, please check the "Mattresses" tab.
Please consider donation if your furniture is still in good shape.
Green Waste (grass clippings, tree trimmings, etc.)
All your tree limbs, grass clippings, and leaves are charged at the green waste rate.
If your green waste is bagged, you will be charged the mixed trash rate.
You may be able to purchase a separate household green-waste curbside bin. Call to see if your city offers this service.
Household Hazardous Waste (Chemicals, paint, light bulbs, etc.)
Household Hazardous Waste is anything in and around your home that is poisonous, flammable, corrosive or toxic. It is many of your cleaning supplies, paint, yard care chemicals, pesticides, fuels, batteries, electronics, used oil and antifreeze.
Salt Lake County Health Department operates a Household Hazardous Waste facility on Salt Lake Valley and Trans-Jordan landfill properties. Please call 385.468.3862 or visit their website for more information.
Items Containing Freon (Refrigerators, a/c units, etc.)
Freon containing items such as refrigerators, freezers and a/c units are accepted at $12 per unit. The Freon and other refrigerants will be removed for proper disposal according to federal regulations before the items are recycled.
No commercial refrigerators or freezers are accepted.

Recycling
Recycling bins are located outside of the landfill gates and are available to the public at no charge. There are bins for glass, cardboard, paper, plastic/metal cans, and clothing.
Sod
Special Waste (Large quantities of food, etc.)
Tires
Tires are accepted for $3.00 each. There is a limit of 4 tires per load.
