Salt Lake City, UT – Friday, January 24, 2020, is a day Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson will never forget. She was driving down State Street when she saw a man lying on the ground having a serious medical incident. As she pulled over and called 911, a good Samaritan, Tiffani King, also stopped and immediately delivered a lifesaving dose of naloxone to the man. This was truly one of the most terrifying yet reassuring experiences of Mayor Wilson’s life, and a perfect example of why she and other leaders work so hard battling the opioid crisis. One of Mayor Wilson’s top priorities is continuing the tremendous work Salt Lake County has been doing, including the efforts of the county’s Opioid Task Force, co-established by the Mayor and Councilmember, Steve DeBry.
