Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson to Announce Winners of Ideas Competition for Jordan River Parkway

Salt Lake City - Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson will announce the winners of the On the River’s Edge ideas competition at General Holm Park (1050 West Carlisle Park Lane, South Salt Lake) on Thursday, June 27 at 10 a.m. Launched in March, the competition invited architects, planners and artists from across the nation to submit ideas that would reimage a 3.5-mile stretch of the Jordan River Parkway in central Salt Lake County.
“We are thrilled with all the innovative ideas submitted to us through this competition. Our goal was to discover creative solutions to improve, conserve and activate the Jordan River Parkway and the contestants have really come through,” said Mayor Jenny Wilson.
A jury of eleven experts and elected officials will award a Jury Award Winner ($20,000 cash prize) and five Innovation Award Winners ($2,500 each) in the areas of Activation, Connectivity, Conservation, Recreation and Economic Prosperity. The People’s Choice Award, chosen by a public online vote, will receive a $4,000 prize. Some of the award winners will be present for interviews.
