(Salt Lake County, UT) – The Salt Lake County Council today approved an ordinance to officially change the name of the county’s Aging Services Division to Aging and Adult Services. The name change is part of a larger strategy to help the public better understand the diversity of the division’s service portfolio, as well as the clients and customers it serves.

“Many of our programs serve individuals who do not fit into the category of what we traditionally call seniors. We serve individuals of all ages through our Caregiver, In-home Care, and Community Access to Technology programs. Our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program recruits volunteers beginning at age 55, and our Outreach team helps family members of all ages access resources,” said Tracey Tabet, Aging and Adult Services Division director.

Salt Lake County’s Aging and Adult Services division is responsible for helping Salt Lake County’s older residents and other qualifying adults remain independent and in their homes by providing a comprehensive and coordinated system of services.
