Michelle Schmitt -
Mayor Ben McAdams has selected Sarah Brenna as the new Salt Lake County Department of Administrative Services director.
“Administrative Services is the nuts and bolts of our first-class organization,” said Mayor McAdams. “Sarah Brenna brings with her experience and management skills that will keep the department running efficiently and effectively.”
Ms. Brenna has held several positions at Salt Lake County, including grant technician for Youth Services, case manager for Criminal Justice and Economic Development, director of Aging and Adult Services, and most recently as associate director for the department of Human Services. Her work experience also includes project management for the Utah Department of Workforce Services.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to oversee this crucial aspect of the county’s operation,” said Sarah Brenna. “The county’s dedicated workforce is a great foundation for getting the job done. I’m ready to take on the challenge.”
Mayor McAdams says Administrative Services oversees fleet management, human resources, contracts and procurement, facilities management, information services, printing, and records management. Ms. Brenna replaces former director Jill Carter who resigned in April 2014.
Ms. Brenna has a bachelor’s degree and Master of Public Administration from the University of Utah.
McAdams notes that Brenna’s selection is subject to the advice and consent of the County Council.
