SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT – Local authors Johanna Buchert Smith and Ellen Buchert share their secrets for creating a more conscious, connected life through gardening in their book “The Story Garden: Cultivating Plants to Nurture Memories” at the County Library’s Whitmore Branch on April 17. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session and book signing. Books will be available for purchase from The Printed Garden onsite.

"The Story Garden" is a collection of lovely tales focusing on the magic of self-discovery, memory, and human connections transmitted through botany. The stories are supplemented with instructions for readers to find the botanical connections in their own experiences, like starting a rosebush from the rose in your wedding bouquet or planting a balsam fir at the end of the driveway to remind you of Christmas.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information about this and other author events, visit or call 801.943.4636.
