Diapers Needed for Annual Diaper Needs Awareness Drive
Tavin Stucki -
“Early childhood development is a priority to the County Library,” County Library Director Jim Cooper said. “Clean diapers make a huge difference in the life of children and families, and I’m glad the County Library can help.”
Diaper Need Awareness Week will be celebrated across Utah the week of September 24-30, when Governor Gary Herbert and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams will make official proclamations encouraging Utahans to donate.
The generous donations of County Library users during the 2017 diaper drive resulted in the availability of 3,000 diapers for children and families across Utah. With an average of 25 diapers being distributed per child, each month, these donated diapers help reduce the risk of disease and neglect for approximately 120 children. Additionally, the donated diapers help alleviate financial and emotional stress often experienced by parents and caregivers.
Individuals, families and businesses interested in donating may take disposable children’s diapers to any of the County Library’s 18 branches anytime during normal hours in September.
