SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah–Dust off your Jedi robes, it’s time for the County Library’s annual May the 4th event—an evening at the Mos Eisley Cantina for costume and trivia contests, mocktails, refreshments and galactic games.

“We are excited to bring this popular event back for a third year,” librarian Liesl Seborg said. “It’s an amazing and immersive experience that lets you feel like you’re in the Star Wars universe.”

This is a free event for adults, ages 18 and older. Please leave your younglings and padawans at home. Get your free tickets at

Costumes are encouraged, but not required.

Additionally, the County Library will host a free screening of “The People vs. George Lucas,” on May 3 at 7 pm, in partnership with the Utah Film Center. Hilarious and heartfelt, this film delves into Lucas’s cultural legacy to ask: who truly owns that galaxy far, far away—Lucas or those who worship it?
