The County Library Celebrates 1.9 Million Digital Checkouts in 2017
Tavin Stucki -
The County Library totaled 1,971,762 digital checkouts in 2017, more than half of which were circulated through the County Library’s partnership with OverDrive, a digital reading platform widely utilized by library systems around the world. That 1.97-million mark signified an increase of more than 50,000 digital materials over the 2016 total. In all, the County Library checked out more than 13 million materials during 2017.
“I’m pleased we can help satisfy this thirst for digital media the people of Salt Lake County have,” Library Director Jim Cooper said. “It really reflects the value our patrons place in the resources public libraries can provide.”
The top five titles borrowed in 2017 through the County Library’s digital collection on OverDrive were:
1. Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes
2. The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins (ebook)
3. Inferno: Robert Langdon Series, Book 4, by Dan Brown
4. The Martian: A Novel, by Andy Weir
5. The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins (audiobook)
