SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT — Two County Library Youth Services librarians have been published in a new sourcebook from the American Library Association (ALA) called "63 Ready-to-Use Maker Projects." In the book, Youth Services librarians Spring Lavallee and Heather Buhler teach maker projects such as creating do-it-yourself chain mail, hosting an upcycled fashion show and creating a woven communi-tree.

"As a library, we are the heart of the community in so many ways; through our collection, programming, and outreach, we strive every day to reach those ideals of engagement, representation, and inclusion. The communi-tree weaving gave us an opportunity to reach out to our patrons and create a lasting monument to the beauty, diversity, and creativity of our community and our place in it," Lavallee said. "It's a frozen moment experienced new again every time it's viewed with wonder and appreciation."
