SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT – Teens across the County are invited to create STEM projects and “Be the Source of Change” in their communities during Teen Tech Month at the County Library. Beginning March 1, the County Library will host a variety of STEM activities and opportunities for teens to participate either virtually or at a Library program. Teen Tech Month is part of a national weeklong American Library Association initiative, “Be the Source of Change,” which encourages teens to visit their local library to access a variety of resources and services. In addition to attending STEM programs, Salt Lake County teens are invited to participate in an online contest for a chance to win a $50 gift card. There are two (2) age categories, 13-14 and 15-18, and three (3) contest categories: Written, Visual, and Animated. Entries may be submitted online, slcolibrary.org/teentech, March 1-31. All entries must be submitted by midnight on March 31.

Teens who participate in the contest and/or library programs during Teen Tech Month may earn a one-time fine waiver, up to $5.00 per library card.

Library membership is free to Salt Lake County residents and is an excellent return on investment for the community.
