  • Acreage: 265 acres
  • Price: $1,800,000
  • Partners: Salt Lake City Public Utilities, Utah Open Lands and the LeRay McAllister Fund

The Killyon's Canyon property is a unique, 265 acre property in the alpine region of Emigration Canyon that hosts nine distinct forest plant communities set in a geologic anomaly of Jurassic redrock formations, with stunning views of the Little Cottonwood, Big Cottonwood, Millcreek, and Parley's Canyon peaks.  It is a museum piece of geologic and botanical diversity with virgin, old growth conifer forests, and elevation range of 6120 to 7344, more than a mile of healthy riparian habitat along two perennial streams, and one of which is Emigration Canyon’s largest springs. Thanks to our partners, the property owners and an anonymous donor this area will be free from development and open for the enjoyment of Salt Lake County residents.  Utah Open Lands holds a conservation easement on the parcel.
