Matheson Courthouse
The Scott M. Matheson Courthouse is the largest state courthouse, opened in the spring of 1996. It houses Third District, Third District Juvenile and the Utah Supreme Court, Utah Court of Appeals, Utah State Law Library.
Officers provide constant security and Bailiff services when court is in session. Court Security Officers screen using a variety of law enforcement tools including vehicle screening, x-ray machines, metal detectors.
Bailiffs manage dozens of prisoners and oversee hundreds of court cases daily. Proceedings can range from civil and traffic all the way to capitol murder.
Unique duties specific to this location
The courthouse is currently staffed with a force that would rival most city police departments. Our Officers are faced daily with Law Enforcement and Correctional scenarios.
