There are two different types of volunteers at Youth Services: regular, ongoing volunteers and one-time volunteers.
To be a one-time volunteer, call or e-mail
email@example.com or 385.468.4506 to set the day and time. One-time volunteers can either be one person or a group; minimum age limit (21 years); no more than 5 people should plan on coming at one time. Groups should plan on providing the activity that they would like to do with the youth.
Step One: Complete screening application form
Download and complete the online screening application
VolunteerScreeningForm and submit via email to
firstname.lastname@example.org. We will assess our current volunteer needs and contact you within 5 business days. Once you have been contacted and we have determined that you/your team would be a good match or fill a specific service need we will ask that you complete a volunteer application.
Step Two: Complete your application
Please complete the
Volunteer Packet. We begin processing your application as soon as we receive it. You can will need to drop off your application to our front desk along with the proper ID to copy and payment for processing. Please note: the sooner we receive your complete application information the sooner it will be processed. Processing can take 3-6 weeks for approval. You cannot volunteer until a background check has been approved by the state licensing department.
Note: Volunteer Packet & Background Check The volunteer packet includes guidelines, policies & procedures, as well as the required background check application. (Please note that a state issued photo ID and copy of your social security card are required in order to process your background check). We will contact you once your background check has been cleared. If you do not pass the BCI you will be contacted and we may need further documentation to process your application.Step Three: Attend Volunteer Orientation
You will need to attend the next new volunteer orientation session. This training is offered at Youth Services once a month, on the first Thursday of every month from 4-5 pm in the administration conference room located at the main office campus in the administration building at 177 W Price Avenue, SLC 84115.
Step Four: Schedule your visits
After attending the new hire and volunteer orientation, the process is considered complete! If your BCI was approved, you will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator and be directed to schedule your time with a desired program to begin volunteering. If your schedule changes or you find that you would like to change programs please contact the program supervisor and the volunteer coordinator to update the schedule with the change.
