Application Timelines

Tier I Application Timeline

The 2023 Tier I & Zoological grant application will open the April 1, 2022. Please refer to the Apply tab for more information.

They are carefully reviewed by our Tier I Advisory Board. The board makes funding recommendations to the County Council. Once the County Council approves the funding recommendations, ZAP staff will invite the recommended organizations to sign contracts. The percentage of funding each organization receives is based on qualifying expenditures. This process takes almost a full year.

  • Application Due Date: May 31, 2022 at 5:00 PM
  • Review by Volunteer Advisory Board: June-October 2022
  • Advisory Board Recommendations: November 2022
  • County Council Approval: December 2022
  • Contracting: January 2023
  • First Payments: May 2023

Tier II Application Timeline

2022 Tier II Application Open: Tuesday, March 1

2022 Tier II Application Deadline: Friday, April 29 at 5:00 PM

Review Process

Applications are carefully reviewed by the Tier II Advisory Board. The board submits funding recommendations to the County Council, which can make adjustments to the funding recommendations.
Once the County Council approves final funding decisions, ZAP Staff will invite the recommended organizations to sign contracts. Each funding cycle takes almost a full year from application submission to final payment disbursement.

Timeline

  • Application Open: March 1, 2022
  • Application Received (Deadline): April 29, 2022 at 5:00 PM
    • 2020 Tier II Evaluation Received (Deadline): April 29, 2022 at 5:00 PM
  • Receive additional required financial documents from applicants requesting over $15k: May 31, 2022 at 5:00 PM
  • Review by Volunteer Advisory Board: May - August 2022
  • Advisory Board Recommendations: August/September 2022
  • County Council approval: August/September 2022
  • Contracting: October - December 2022

Grants are distributed in two payments. The first payment will be received no later than January 2023. The second payment will be received no later than May 2023.
