Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality refers to the air quality within buildings and homes as it relates to the health and comfort of the occupants. Understanding and controlling for common indoor air pollutants can help reduce risk of indoor health concerns such as asthma and allergies.

Indoor sources of air quality:

  • burning fuel
  • combustion appliances
  • smoking or vaping
  • off-gassing of building materials
  • cleaning products
  • radon

What you can do:

  • maintain HVAC systems by changing filters regularly
  • use an air cleaner unit
  • use vent hoods when cooking
  • keep windows closed when outdoor air quality is poor
