COVID-19 Response

The Office of Data & Innovation was at the forefront of the COVID-19 response. We partnered with multiple agencies to develop quick and innovative solutions to meet their response needs. We continue to support various county agencies in their COVID-19 response. Here’s a list of some major projects/programs we have supported.

Our Response

Supported the County Health Department to manage the COVID-19 testing program. Developed testing registration and reporting system, streamline testing data, reported test results to the County residents.

Developed vaccine inventory management system, collected daily vaccine administered count, distributed nightly reports. Assisted with vaccine clinic scheduling and outreach efforts.

Developed a database to conduct school related contact tracing efforts including surveys, reports and dashboards for individuals schools and school districts.

Designed and implemented SLCo Employees Vaccination Incentive Program including vaccine information collection, validation, and reporting to the Payroll Department.

The portal provided targeted support to municipalities by increasing accessibility to local data and visualizing indicators, like monthly sales tax disbursements, Class B & C Road Funds, and a model of fiscal impact.

Assisted Office of Regional Development with the program design, application, review and approval process.

Helped develop reopening plans, daily symptoms disclosure forms, reporting workflows and agency dashboards.

Developed food assistance request form, transmitted real-time data to Utah Food Bank for next day delivery. Create reports and dashboards to show geographic distribution of food assistance programs.

Streamlined volunteer onboarding process to handle a large influx of volunteers. Worked closely with the Mayor’s office, Human Resources and Health Department to quickly screen and assign volunteers.

Helped prepare the County managers and workforce to continue to operate during the shutdown and remote working.

Supported SBIG grant by researching impacted business sectors, supported grant submission, review, approval, post decision processes including contracts, payments and reporting.

Created workflows, documentation and dashboards for Quarantine & Isolation supplies and PPE requests to manage inventory.

Created CARES Act Funds reporting portal for municipalities, school districts, charter schools and community partners. Created internal SharePoint site for CARES Act cost review.

Supported COVID-19 planning and analysis group. Created a SharePoint site to consolidate reporting from various response groups.

Developed online PPE request form, transmitted real-time data to the PPE warehouse staff for fulfillment and Facilities Services for timely distribution.

Conducted multiple employee surveys through the pandemic to assess employee telecommuting experience.

We are providing performance management support and solutions including funding application, quarterly data collection and reporting to the Department of the Treasury.
