Salt Lake County, UT – The Arts, Parks, and the Utah Skies project blends local art, Salt Lake County parks, and the Utah skies through three temporary public art installations that explore themes of astronomy and science.

Salt Lake County's Clark Planetarium, Salt Lake County Arts and Culture, and Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation collaborated on this project, intended to connect park visitors with the wonders of space, using public art to activate the imagination, explore the environment in which they live, and encourage park visitors to look up to the sky.

Often art and science are seen as opposite fields, when in fact, they are connected. Both endeavors require creativity, inquiry and an ability to make sense of the unknown. It is important to highlight the connections between the two and help bridge that gap. This project will encourage engagement with both art and science and increase access for people to engage with both art and science.
