Dog Park Implementation Plan

In 2008, the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Division finalized the Off-Leash Dog Park Master Plan. The plan identified the need for dog park amenities throughout the county and areas of need.

In 2017, the Division embarked on creating an Off-Leash Dog Park Implementation Plan using selection criteria from the master plan -- with additional considerations around environmental concerns and community input. The results of this selection resulted in potential sites and concept plans for two-to-three, five-to-ten acre regional scale dog parks.

After conducting public engagement and completing a dog park site selection process in 2018, three sites were selected to move forward with concept plan development for regional off-leash dog parks.  The proposed sites include: Wardle Fields Regional Park (Bluffdale), Lodestone Regional Park (Kearns), and the future Magna Regional Park (Magna).
