Research

Salt Lake County Economic Development periodically issues research on the economic landscape of our County, including findings related to redevelopment, growth, quality of life, and strategic planning. Our goal is to use data-driven insight to guide policy discussions about our work, including Tax Increment Financing (TIF), workforce development, and regional conversations about growth.

Recent projects are posted below. For more information about in-progress or future research, please contact Kersten Swinyard.

Complete Foundational Research for “A New Perspective for Prosperity in the Salt Lake Region”

Salt Lake County engaged site-selection consultant Global Location Strategies (GLS) in a two-phase process to 1) identify the County’s value proposition and best industry clusters to target for strategic recruitment, and then 2) to compare the County against peer regions throughout the country so we can compete better for these high-value industries. These GLS reports are the complete, foundational backbone of the data and analysis in our final report, “A New Perspective for Prosperity in the Salt Lake Region.”
