Infectious Disease
The health department’s Infectious Disease Bureau investigates the transmission of communicable diseases and works to prevent or minimize further spread of disease.
The bureau operates a perinatal hepatitis B prevention program to prevent the spread of hepatitis B from an infected mother to her newborn, as well as the health department’s tuberculosis program.
