Jail Screening & Release

During the interview, screeners will complete a background check, conduct the PSA , and gather needed information which includes but is not limited to demographics, criminal history, ties to the community, contact information, address, education, employment history, etc.

Screeners will use the information gathered while also taking into consideration the offense the individual has been charged with, to make an appropriate release decision.

CJS screeners have the authority to release an individual with charges up to a 2nd degree non-violent felony. If a decision is made to not release an individual, or they are not released due to charge(s), Judges have the option to order an individual to be released from custody.

The screening team is available 365 days a year and 24 hours a day.
