Wheeler Historic Farm is a wonderful venue for your big day!

Our Activity Barn and Lawn Spaces are designed to allow you to be the architect of your dreams. Our facility provides you the freedom to choose your own caterer, decor and much more.

Meetings and Retreats

If your staff needs a little rejuvenating, or you have a client meeting coming up, we have the space for you. You can plan your next big project in our main activity barn and then have a picnic lunch at our pavilion. Use any caterer you like or we can make some great recommendations. We are located in the heart of the Salt Lake valley with easy freeway access.

  • Barn equipped with Wi-Fi and projection screen
  • Renters do their own set-up and clean-up. This time needs to be included in your rental.

Activity Barn

Our rustic atmosphere and charm make the Wheeler Historic Farm Activity Barn an ideal setting for your special event. The Barn has been host site for wedding receptions and ceremonies, luncheons, dinners, anniversary parties, birthdays, wakes, Christmas parties and business functions.

Activity Barn FAQ

Renters are welcome to choose any caterer. Our staff can recommend caterers familiar with the farm and our space.

No alcohol allowed on property.

Renters are responsible for their own set-up and clean-up. Be careful to include set-up and clean-up hours in your calculations for your reservation.

Renters are free to decorate the barn to suit their taste. There are restrictions on assembling your decor, as you are not allowed to leave holes, marks or mar the wood. Prohibited are nails, staples, glue and tape. We recommend zip ties, fishing line and wire. Flames are prohibited, including candles.

Ice House

Ice House has a simple, schoolhouse charm. For small gatherings of 30 or less, birthday parties and small family gatherings.

  • Includes: 3 tables, 30 chairs, use of the warming kitchen
  • Not available end of May to mid-August (it is our Summer Camp HQ)

Renters are responsible for their own set-up and clean-up. Be careful to include set-up and clean-up hours in your calculations for your reservation.

Renters are free to decorate the Ice House to suit their taste. There are restrictions on assembling your decor, as you are not allowed to leave holes, marks or mar the wood. Prohibited are nails, staples, glue and tape. We recommend zip ties, fishing line and wire. As the Ice House is an entirely wood structure, flames are prohibited, including candles.

Central Lawn

Our expansive lawn spaces are a great venue for family reunions, company picnics, client appreciation events, birthday parties and even weddings! The Central Lawn is located east of the Activity Barn.

For weddings, we recommend renting all available lawn spaces to avoid having an unrelated event reserved next to yours.

Please note, although there are picnic tables on the lawns which are available for use, we do not guarantee a specific number of tables with the exception of the Pavilion as they are bolted down.

We welcome everyone to the farm to come and picnic without making a reservation. Please be aware we do rent our lawn spaces and they may be reserved and off limits for private events.

South Lawn

Our expansive lawn spaces are a great venue for family reunions, company picnics, client appreciation events, birthday parties and even weddings! The South Lawn is conveniently located adjacent to the public restrooms.

  • 503' x 196'

For weddings, we recommend renting all available lawn spaces to avoid having an unrelated event reserved next to yours.

Please note, although there are picnic tables on the lawns which are available for use, we do not guarantee a specific number of tables with the exception of the Pavilion as they are bolted down.

The playground and restrooms located next to the pavilion are open to the public during your rental.

West Lawn & Pavilion

  • Includes 14 picnic tables & 6 power outlets
  • 428'x301'x77' (L shaped)

For weddings, we recommend renting all available lawn spaces to avoid having an unrelated event reserved next to yours.

Please note, although there are picnic tables on the lawns which are available for use, we do not guarantee a specific number of tables with the exception of the Pavilion as they are bolted down.

5K Course

Wheeler Historic Farm has a pre-approved 5K Track map available for your event. Your group may, with prior approval and assistance from Wheeler Historic Farm staff, create your own desired course.

Non-Profit Rates
Up to 100 racers, ½ day $275 +$100 refundable damage/cleaning deposit Includes rental of West Lawn/Pavilion
100-250 racers, ½ day $400 +$100 refundable damage/cleaning deposit Includes rental of West Lawn/Pavilion
250-500 racers, ½ day $525 +$200 refundable damage/cleaning deposit Includes rental of West Lawn/Pavilion, Central Lawn and South Lawn 
Commercial Rates
Up to 500 racers, ½ day $1000 +$500 cleaning deposit Includes all lawn spaces
$10 per vendor (in addition to rental fee)
$2 per ticket for Ticketed Event or Race Registrations (in addition to rental fee)
  • ½ day is 6:00 AM-3:00 PM
  • Use of Wheeler Farm electrical power requires a fee of $50 per unit (two units available)
