Employee Relations

The Salt Lake County Employee Relations team covers the areas of EEO, ADA, FMLA and disciplinary matters. We are committed to maintaining employer-employee relationships by preventing and resolving problems which arise out of or affect the work environment.

General Employee Relations

The employee relations team provides training and guidance in the application of HR policies, discipline and grievances.

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

EEO provides technical assistance to citizens, employees and managers in the area of employment discrimination of individuals in protected classes.  Employee Relations/EEO team also conducts investigations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

  • ADA ensures all County programs, services and activities are accessible and usable by people with disabilities, including physical building access and effective communication for people who are deaf and hard of hearing
  • Manages reasonable accommodation requests from county employees
  • Provides technical assistance to citizens, employees and managers in the area of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the application of relevant HR and County-wide policies
  • Develops and implements training.

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.
