Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake

Legal services for domestic violence victims and low-income family law clients. Provide legal representation for domestic violence victims to obtain a protective order at no cost.

Utah Legal Services, Inc.

Benefit Enrollment & Expungement Program: provide assistance to low-income residents to enroll in, use, and retain benefits and income supports for which they are eligible.

For the Homeowner

The following organizations provide renovations and repairs, and grants. Eligibility is often determined by area median income (AMI).

Community Development Corporation of Utah

Provides renovations & repairs for homeowners that meet income criteria.

NeighborWorks Salt Lake

Provides renovations & repairs for homeowners that meet income criteria in Murray City only.

Assist Utah, Inc.

Provides emergency home repairs for life safety or critical home repair problems. Homeowners at 50% of the area median income.

Green & Healthy Homes

National initiative for creating healthy, safe, energy-efficient homes for low- to moderate-income homeowners.

Salt Lake County Lead Safe Housing Program

Program provides funding to remediate lead hazards in homes built before 1978 where children under the age of six reside or visit frequently.

Salt Lake County with the federal HUD HOME Investment Partnership Program assists in the production and preservation of affordable housing for low and moderate-income families and individuals earning 60 percent of area median income and below. Multi-family and single-family housing can be assisted with new construction and rehabilitation including rental assistance. Most assistance is providing the gap financing of new build housing.
