12 Prevention & Control of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs)

Vaccine preventable diseases are diseases of public health concern that can be avoided through routine immunization. Vaccine preventable disease surveillance includes identifying cases of vaccine preventable diseases and preventing further spread.

The diseases in this section are preventable through immunization. The most common reasons for not receiving a vaccine for cases of these diseases within SLCo Jurisdiction in 2022 were refusing vaccination or being unable to receive a vaccination due to age.
